Shiora Privacy Policy

Shiora is operated by JRT Technologies LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how JRT Technologies LLC collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards your information when you use the Shiora mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service").
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide to Us
When you create an account or use Shiora, we may collect:
- Phone (OTP Auth)
- First and Last Name
- Username
- Date of Birth (DOB)
- Beverage preference and community selection
- Profile photo/avatar (Optional)
- Community Notes (text based)
- Alcohol Product Ratings (text based)
2. How We Use Your Information
Shiora does not sell your information. Shiora does not share your information with advertisers.Phone Number
Shiora does not sell your phone number or share it with advertisers. Your phone number is processed by Firebase Authentication (a service provided by Google) for the sole purpose of securely verifying your account. Firebase acts as a service provider and processes this information on our behalf.Date of Birth
Your date of birth is collected to verify that you are 21 years of age or older in order to access alcohol-related content within the app. This information is stored in Firebase (operated by Google) and is not sold or shared with advertisers.You may delete your account at any time within the app. When you delete your account, your stored personal information, including your date of birth, is deleted from our active systems.
2A. Notifications
Phone Authentication
Shiora uses Firebase Authentication to verify accounts using phone number verification codes sent via SMS. These messages are required to securely create and access your account.
Push Notifications
Shiora does not currently send push notifications.
In the future, Shiora may offer optional push notifications related to the service, such as announcements, feature updates, or community activity. If push notifications are introduced, users will be able to opt in or opt out through their device settings.
If you enable push notifications, Shiora may store a device token provided by Apple's Push Notification Service (APNs) in order to deliver notifications to your device. This token does not directly identify you.
3. How We Share Your Information
We may share your information in the following cases:
- With Service Providers: We use Firebase (a service provided by Google) and OpenAI to support app functionality.
- With Other Users: Your username and public notes/ratings may be visible to others within your selected community.
- Legal Compliance: If required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or users.
- Business Transfers: If Shiora is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Generative AI Use for Image Processing
Shiora offers an optional feature called “What’s in My Bottle?” that uses third-party artificial intelligence to identify alcohol products from user-submitted images.What Information Is Sent
When you choose to use this feature, the following information is transmitted:- The bottle image you select or capture
- A system-generated request asking the AI to identify the product

OpenAI processes the image using its AI models to generate structured product information such as brand, type, region, ABV, description, and related metadata.
Purpose of Processing
The image is processed solely to:- Identify the product
- Generate informational product details
- Provide a product description and fun fact
User Consent
Use of the “What’s in My Bottle?” feature is completely optional.By selecting and submitting an image, you consent to the secure transmission of that image to OpenAI for processing.
If you do not wish for your image to be processed by a third-party AI service, you should not use this feature.
5. Your Rights and Choices
You can:
- View and update your profile information
- Change or delete your ratings and notes
- Delete your account directly within the app. Deleting your account removes all personally identifiable data from our servers.

6. Data Retention
We retain your personal information only as long as necessary to provide the Shiora service or as required by law. When you delete your account, your personal data, including your profile information, avatar, notes, ratings, and date of birth, is deleted from our active systems.
We do not retain anonymized or aggregated personal data following account deletion. We may retain certain information only as required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or compliance.
7. Children’s Privacy
Shiora is not intended for users under the age of 21. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn that a child has created an account, we will delete the information immediately.
8. Data Security
We use industry-standard encryption and access controls to protect your data. While no system is 100% secure, we take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or destruction.
9. International Users
JRT Technologies LLC is based in the United States. If you are accessing the app from outside the U.S., you consent to transferring your information to the United States, where data protection laws may differ.
10. Third-Party Service Providers
Shiora relies on certain third-party service providers to operate the app, including:- Firebase (Google) for authentication, database, and cloud infrastructure. Firebase privacy information is available at:

Shiora does not control and is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services. We encourage users to review their privacy policies for additional information.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Effective Date” and, if appropriate, provide additional notice in the app. Continued use of Shiora after changes means you accept the revised policy.
